MY FIRST WIN ON 29 INCHES
– MERIDA BIG NINE TO THE OLYPICS
It’s still fantastic winning a race. My victory in Münsingen gives us
affirmation that we are headed in the right direction. In London I’ll be
riding the Merida BIG NINE.
We have many good memories from Münsingen from previous visits, and our
victory yesterday was no exception. I’ve won this springtime classic in the
Bundesliga 5 times now, but the victory yesterday was extra special since it
was my first win on the Merida BIG NINE. In addition, Merida took a double
victory, as my team mate, Rudi, won the men’s class.

TOUGH START IN SOUTH-AFRICA – UPS AND DOWNS IN NALS
I had a tough start to the first World Cup race in Pietermaritzburg. Last
night my two new Merida bikes were stolen from the hotel in Nals. I took a
fourth place today on Hermida’s bicycle.

OPENING OF THE WORLD CUP, SOUTH AFRICA
The opening race in the World Cup has been early since last year, but it’s
still a bit of a rough start. I’m not renowned for being in top shape as
early as March, and this season is probably no exception.

HAPPY NEW BICYCLING YEAR!
We’ve started writing 2012 now, and a whole New Year lies ahead of us, filled
with challenges and numerous possibilities. What excites me most is the
thought that if I work hard enough, it is actually possible to reach the
goals I’ve set for 2012.
