WEEK 50 (Thursday, December 16, 2010) WHITE CHRISTMAS AT HOME
Well, it looks like it’s going to be a white Christmas again – suitable for
the occasion but not the best for our training program this period. Our
existence the past weeks has been coloured by sickness, but now we’re
anticipating a wonderful Christmas celebration in good health.
Week 45 (Tuesday,
November 9, 2010) 2 stage Mountain Bike race
The perfect place for training, racing and holidays together with friends and
family.
Week 41 (Wednesday, October 13, 2010) WONDERFUL CONCLUSION TO THE SEASON I was feeling particularly strong
during the last race of the season last Saturday. My body has been very well
balanced for the past weeks and we can now start a winter exercise period at
a completely different level than has been the case the past two years. The
next three to four weeks will provide us with rest and lots of time together
with our favorite little fellow, Bjørnar.
Week 33 (Friday, August 20, 2010) COMROD – NEW SPONSOR
Today we had the first official meeting with our new personal sponsor, Comrod.
It was extremely exciting signing a deal with a large company from my own
local area, in the municipality of Strand, where I was born and grew up.
NEW SPONSOR
(Friday, August 20, 2010) A POWERFUL MACHINE NEEDS THE RIGHT OIL
A
healthy diet is a vital element in the success of an athlete, but high
performance and energy is important in any job situation. Food which I
previously had thought to be very healthy, started to put an unfortunate
strain on my own machinery. I have now signed a contract with Itogha Norway,
in which Oil4life has contributed to renewed balance in my system.
Week 30 (Monday July 26, 2010) IMPROVING TECHNICALLY ON MY BIKE
This last month has been a fantastic experience of steady improvement on my
bike. A silver medal in the European Marathon Championships, a top 10 finish
in the Cross Country Championships, and recently a great time in a World Cup
race in Champery. We’ve even managed to attend the Merida mountain biking
school for kids at home here in Norway. So far, it’s been a wonderful summer
holiday.
WEEK 23 (Sunday, June 13)
NORDSJØRITTET:
This year’s Nordsjørittet cycle race was an experience I won’t be forgetting
in a hurry. Violent headwinds, pouring rain and only 9 degrees at the start
ensured that the 92 kilometers from Egersund to Sandnes were unspeakably
demanding. I’m deeply impressed by the 8.000 cyclists who completed the race.
Week 23 (Tuesday June 8, 2010) BEAUTIFUL ART
Artwork on the wall provides warmth and enjoyment in a home. We’ve mounted
the first pieces of art on the walls of our new home, after a good one and a
half years of totally white walls.
WEEK 22 (Friday June 4, 2010) EXCITING RACES – THE NORDSJØRITTET RACE COMING UP High
intensity and lots of fun is part and parcel of mountain biking. Racing gives
an extra kick of adrenaline. I can now look back on three demanding and
challenging World Cup races in the first part of this year’s season. And in
one week from now the Nordsjørittet race is starting with over 10.000
participants.
Week 20 (Wedensday May 19, 2010)
VIDEO FROM HOUFFALIZE
After world cup in Houffalize we can now look on a nice video.
Week 13 (Sunday, April 11, 2010) TIME FOR INTERVALS
Finally the snow is gone and we can start enjoying exciting trips into the
woods and wilderness again. The roads are full of cyclists here at home, at
all times of the day. We’re approaching Italian conditions regarding
bike-interest over here.
Week 9 (Sunday March 7, 2010)
EXCITING DAYS ON MAJORCA
After many winter months at different ends of Europe, it’s been great meeting
up again with both team-mates and the support team. Once Multivan Merida
Biking Team’s press camp is over, the season will be well and truly under way
for me, even though there are many weeks left before I take part in my first
race.
WEEK 5 (Friday, February 5, 2010) CYCLING IN THE SNOW AND COLD
Looking at the training conditions here at home these days, one would think
it was the Winter Olympics we were preparing for, and not the next season of
cycling! It’s far from normal here on the west coast of Norway to have so
much snow for so many weeks. Luckily we can live off the memories and
exercise we were able to do on Lanzarote in January.
WEEK 53 (Friday 01.01.2010) SPORTY NEW YEAR
A brand new year lies ahead of us with unimagined challenges and experiences.
As usual, I’ve made myself some new year’s resolutions, but am keeping them
largely to myself. What I wish for most of all is good health, and that
depends a lot on how I take care of my body day by day. |
