Week 33 (Friday, August 20, 2010)
COMROD – NEW SPONSOR
Today we had the first official meeting with our new personal sponsor, Comrod.
It was extremely exciting signing a deal with a large company from my own
local area, in the municipality of Strand, where I was born and grew up.
The company Comrod is on the stock market, and specializes in masts, antennae
and antennae systems, both in development and production. Their main offices
are at Tau in the municipality of Strand. You can read more about them at
www.comrod.no
Throughout the coming year we’ll be working with administration,
representatives and employees at Comrod, using various activities to promote
themes such as motivation, setting goals and responsibility. Physical
activity and good health will naturally also be part and parcel of this
venture
J
The next gathering with the group will be prior to a local road race, the
Scana Race, taking place in a good three weeks from now. We aim to have a
small group from Comrod on the starting line too. The rest of the group will
be supporters as everyone was given the popular supporter flag T-shirt today
J
Kenneth and I are looking forward to a giving cooperation with the 100 or so
employees at Comrod through the autumn and winter.
NEXT STOP: WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS CANADA
Tomorrow we’ll get on board a plane headed for Canada and Mt. Sainte Anne,
where the World Championship in cross country will take place in exactly two
weeks. The original plan was to also take part in the World Cup finals the
preceding weekend at Windham, New York, but an unfortunate cold has changed
those plans for me. Therefore, we’ll stay put at Mt Sainte Anne for the whole
period until the World Championship.
Little Bjørnar has been talking about aero planes and full speed on planes
all week, so it’s going to be interesting to see how he tackles such a long
flight. My mother and father are coming along to help on this trip too, so
Bjørnar is well pleased with the set-up for the Canada trip
J
Bicycles and suitcases are packed and ready, the lunch has been prepared, and
I am ready for a few hours of sleep. It’s going to be a long day tomorrow
with a rather too early start for my taste, but it’s going to be good to
arrive and gain focus again.
To all of you thousands who are planning on taking part in the
Birkebeinerrittet race next Saturday, I must say that I envy each and every
one of you. Kenneth and I had a fantastic experience when we took part last
year and I’m already looking forward to next year’s race
